Lovely image Rhoufi – the lines on the windows remind me of bars and hence prison. Are Australian telephone exchanges similar to prisons?

  • I think this pne may have been. It was the property of James Hardie the asbestos manufacturer. I thought the grimness of the window and the missing telephone wires were just the right symbol for this company’s history.

I love those blue lights over the top of the image Rhoufi! They almost add a selective colour type effect! Cool, way cool! :))

  • Thanks Di,
they are actually little blue insulators where the incoming telephone lines were tied off, but they do look like old lights and the window like a beseiged fortress.

    I love those places
    abandonned
    out of time
    always wondering, what happened here
maybe at night, lights are on, a special blue light
and then, who knows what can happen!
    beautiful image

  • Ah! Who knows? A place for the imagination to run wild and free, eh? Merci Magali.
