Oscar Wilde – “The Picture of Dorian Gray”
Have enjoyed your abstract diversion, but enjoy more your street work :o))For me this is “Classic Rhoufi” :o)))
Ah well, I have had a break from candid captures, trying to develop a more poetic eye. But I must admit the old steet calls to me. There was so little light for this I could expse the right foot resting its big toe on the tiles. I liked the grain and the odd framing. It was very much on the fly, only seconds to decide. Thanks Elle, I will not desert the street believe me.
The thing you have here that I really aspire to is that delicious dark velvety black, and a tonal range that makes textures so exquisitely touchable. I’m finding my way into the street, and love this kind of example. Thank you.
Thank you Evelyn. That’s exactly why I like B+W. Colour distracts from texture and form. Without colour, if you can get the depth of blacks, the eye follows the forms that hold the emotional essence of the photograph. Touchable: exactly, both sensously and metaphorically. Well expressed, and a big thank you for seeing it.
Ell and Evelyn expressed my thoughts better than I could, R. Nicely done!
Thank you Jan. I’ve been a bit of a hermit lately. I hope you are well and writing your heart out ;)
I like the graphism hereand the special lighta bit mysteriouswe wonder where she is….
It was vey hard to take with nearly no light, no time and no tripod. But there she was, bare foot, a bag, a listless pose and something mysterious; too much for me. To enhance the mystery more she is in a convent where my mother was raised ;-) a ghost perhaps!
This is brilliant! I love street photography and when I look at your images I see a uniuqe view on the world. Awesome shots!
