I have seen this one before and it still looks fantastic. :-D

  • Hi Linda,

I just uploaded a B+W version to use in my 2011 “City” calendar. The other one was sepia.

Lovely bw work! Nice to have the place all to oneself. :-) What is the item in the background?

  • Thanks Cathy. This was uploaded a while ago as The Reader in sepia and was used in collaboration with another artist. But I needed a B+W version for my forthcoming 2011 calendar. The little “house” in the background is a religious publications stand – like a street stall. Looks weird inside a church doesn’t it. This is in the same church. Thanks for the visit.

Yes, I was thinking some type of stand where they post fliers when I first saw it.

I think the B+W one looks the best out of the three. :-)

  • You could be right Linda. Until I uploaded this I never questioned the sepia. Anyway, my calendar is nearly ready, thanks for the suggestion. I hope to post it today. I hope you like the selection.

Love it in b/w Rhoufi, especially the reflections on top of the pews from the lights on the columns and from the window behind the reader, b/w really brings out the detail :-)))

  • Thanks Ell, maybe I should have replaced the sepia version, because the B+W does look good.

Ah yes, the cathedral:) I understand now:) You need a sensor with a higher dynamic range:)

  • The colour version of this is pretty good, but really I just want to have less noise at higher ISO’s and the K-7 gets too grainy above ISO1250-1600. I don’t like tripods AND I like night photography, so….. better sensor required. The new Sony seems to be the bee’s knees at the moment and you can get the K-5 body for about AUD$1200 at the moment.
