Oh, this is lovely!….really like all those oblongs and the corrugated iron. Making it b&w was a good idea, the grey tones are beautiful (and I’d be interested to see the colour version too). Isn’t Clunes a fascinating place to visit? I haven’t been for quite a few years, but last time I was there I felt as though I’d been transported back to 1850! Hand me my crinoline! :^)

  • Thanks V. Maybe it’s just you and me who enjoy the geometry and textures of this shot. I see lots of things, in particular the loud speakers above the door – what was that all about? And Clunes is great, I have been up to the Booktown twice now and always have a good time.

This is very interesting, it has so much character. Like this one aswell! :-)

  • Thanks, yeah character! It looks like it had quite history.

Liking all those ‘conflicting’ 90 degree lines and corrugations, very much!!!! :-)) … superb in b/w!

  • So it’s not just me who likes the way corrugated iron walls argue with every other straight line – I have always been fascinated with that rectilinear roughing-up it creates – it draws my eye everytime. Cool.

    melancholic and graphic….

  • Merci, aussi, 1more. I had the “feeling” that unpleasant things went on in this building. I wanted the image to be cold. Did I succeed?

I would not have said “cold” really… “melancholic” as i said …because I love thoose places which look abandonned, I always wonder about what happened… Magali

  • Merci, Magali. Yes this was the idea – to create intrigue about what might have happened here, so “melancholic” (the saddened spirit) is a good way to describe it.
