for some reason this doesn’t feel happy.. I feel that it looks as if she’s lost her way or her mum LOL.. again your images always tell a story.. and now I’ve just created my own :);)

  • Perfect Angela, thank you. The title is ironic, very much so. I think I will add a ”?” to the title. Generally, I see shopping as a search for unattainable happiness, and the tilt of her head and the hands in her pockets were why I posted the image. I felt the size of the space, height of the ceiling and the slightness of the girl, made her look lost, or perhaps looking for something she has no conscious sense of. I will these things into the photo, whether they are there or not :—))

Thanks for fuelling the story, I love it when people do that, very much.

    great capture

  • Thank you Antanas. I often look down this alley and always see someone moving in an interesting way. She just looked lost, so I took it.

This series really captures the loneliness of urban life.

  • Melbourne is really small city by world standards, but we have all the same alienations as any huge metropolis.

I like this,it is sort of eerie with the shops all closed and she is just browsing as if lost in thoughts. The wide space from the viewer to her leads to the imagination, adds spookiness to the scene as if someone is following her : )

  • Thank you Pat. You know I quite like this shot, but it didn’t get much attention did it. I like the smallness and fragility of the girl against the huge architecture, she seems alone and lost. Thank you for your comment.
