Ron Mueck’s hyper-realistic sculptures engage the viewer totally. They provide a new way of observing ourselves, our bodies, birth, life, dying and death. It is impossible to resist reflecting on what it means to be alive when standing in front of one of his sculptures.

thanks for that; I have been scrolling through your images since I saw your “The Couple” and to have someone who takes such good B&W street photos compliment my image means a great deal to me. I was just about to leave the gallery, and had been hovering for some time, but there was always too many people in the frame. Then this woman in black just moved into the frame, took up that stance and tilted her head – it made my day. Thanks you for noticing it. I’m enjoying your art. Long time since I was in Paris.

thanks for noticing this – I’m only just getting to know my camera and good shots are few and far between. Since I favourited your “Interim”, I have scrolled your page and was then shocked to see some work in Melbourne. Your work has a spare elemental quality and it surprises me you can find so many compositions to express that view in Melbourne and Adelaide. You’re showing our cities in a very unique light. it was the only one of 4 shots I ran off quickly with different focus points that was not blurred due to the slow shutter speed. They don’t allow flash. I was lucky really – right person, dressed right, right pose. I couldn’t have set it up so well if I tried.

The woman (with her head tilted slightly) seems to watch over the sleep of the “giant” !
It happened much the way your “Confession” did. The crowd cleared, the woman walked into my framing, put her hand on her hip and tilted her head. Lucky I had just fitted my 70mm prime telephoto. I love the way the visual attitude of a person’s body translates their feelings into a sensibility – the elbow and the tilt of the head, for me, says patience and wonder. I really want to take more candid shots like this, but they are rare. Merci pour le commentaire; á bientôt.

I once did the trip from Batna to Touggourt and El Oued in Algeria and you enter the top of Sahara on the road running south. The dunes you have captured take me back to the oceans of sand either side of the road. Glorious photos. Welcome to RedBubble.

Thanks Robin, the intimacy in the tilt of the head did take my breath away as I shot it. Pacale (above) put it into better words than mine: "The woman (with her head tilted slightly) seems to watch over the sleep of the ‘giant’! " You can’t fabricate these moments, they just come your way.
