| Even for Dorothy Parker | ![]() |

Dorothy Parker (August 22, 1893 – June 7, 1967) was an American poet, short story writer, critic and satirist, best known for her wit, wisecracks, and eye for 20th century urban foibles. See her on Wiki
She was 52 years old and had already published most of her famous works before she sent this telegram to her editor at Viking Press.
For all you writers who struggle to find the right words to express your thoughts – there is always hope. Struggle on.

ditto mel … even when she thinks she can’t write she writes
Her wit and satire cheer me when I read her writing. I was sure she was British. Nice job, R.
heh heh … she always had a word for it; thanks for this, Rhoufi! Bet tons of RB’ers save this…

Alas poor Dorothy, how painful! Thanks for posting this Rhoufi, Dorothy’s discouragement is our encouragement – and she seems to have been quite a woman!
She sure was! But clearly suffered from self doubt like everyone else. A piece of writen work is a unique thing; it’s so hard to be objective about it.
