The Rape of Freedom

Hyenas skulked, yipping eerily in the darkness
Plotters gleeful had lit the fire; contriving, they lied and misled
Their men on the inside; the others they owned
They killed token watchmen and wrote “hands off !” as a law
Derivatives and cocaine and hookers
Billionaire makeup artists gussied garish faces in AAA pancake
Hyena fangs glinting victory in terrible darkness
They leered, they panted, they drooled
They chased, tripped and mounted in furious speed
Insatiable and frenzied they tore into her soft underbelly
The orgy of tooth and fang was universal
Pissing on her half eaten form left in Main Street
They laughed insanely, spotting the territory they owned
Marauders of the night in the land of the free
Selling lies, half truths and technicalities they skulked
Out-dancing the spotlight in the ballroom of smoke and mirrors
When the lie was exposed the truth ran panting in too late
They took more still; they still had men on the inside
Masters in the home of the brave
These clever Hyenas
Still they roam unfettered, past shuttered homes and businesses
Freedom lay bleeding and gutted, her dress shredded, meatless boney legs obscenely splayed

This is another protest poem I wrote after watching a 60 Mins documentary about all major banks forging loan documents to foreclose on millions of homes. This is a companion to Dreadful Circus, A Coffee Dream, and When the Big Boys Forsake the Rules. My Newest painting Posterity and promise is also a protest to the bank robbers and wall street swindlers.

Wow, such a powerful write!!! You picked the perfect animal to display the metaphore. Made me want to go a hunting hyenas.

  • You and me both brother. I watched a movie about the scandal on wall street and it outlined the fiasco, the perpetrators, cronies and facilitators and it made me angry. The assholes are getting away with raping America! Matta Damon narrated for two hours and I was mesmerized as they had many of the culprits giving shameless interviews in the film. Shameless and worthy of iron sites or scopes for certain.

Yeah… wow… I watched a show about credit cards one time and felt the same. Vivid writing. My friend tried to save his home and the bank kept “losing” his paperwork. He had to start from scratch in the process three times. He’s hanging on… barely.

  • The bank kept losing my paperwork, but finally I said fuckem and walked away. Karma will come with a resounding thunderclap. Americans will not stand for this chimera we call a government anymore. The banks own and run this country and it makes me wanna puke. come see my posts on facebook if you can, I just posted a movie narrated by Matt Damon about the financial fiasco. That documentary proved it was a huge ponzy scheme involving the white house. I was so angry after watching that. I wanna start a revolution or something. Meanwhile I write angrily….Thanks for stopping in.

    So bloody real mannnn

  • I do not know how much the average person knows about the financial crash of 2008, but I have read myself into it and am flabbergasted that no one is willing to do anything. What a bunch of crooks!!! Thanks Bobby! Cheers, J
