Judith and I on our red tandem bicycle arrived in time to thoroughly enjoy the backyard barbeque.
I chatted with Hal who’s wife Alexandra graduated MIT with Judith.
They: Buckey Balls and nano-bots.
We: multiple beers, burgers and chips on paper plates.
They: Pate, Chablis and thin sliced grilled Salmon on fine China.
The girls momentarily left. I told Hal how Judith pedaled us here. We laughed uproariously!
“Wished I thought of that; Oh my god hilarious!”
“She never looked back, hahahaaa!”
Finally, Alexandra announced cheerily “Hal gets to tandem home with Roger; Judith stays.”
Surely I mentioned the shifter locked in first gear?
Yeah and the seat now wobbled; handlebars adjusted off-center.
They: waving innocently by the toolbox.
“Call us when you get there!”
Hal was sloshed, hindering the pedals.Did I mention the drive home was uphill?“OH, Just put your feet up Hal!”
Husbands of bright wives live in dim-wit shadows.
