Old Warrior Poet

The once bronzed warrior
wears no sunlight
a poet trudging moss
in cool blue mists
Tolling memories
echo dull
gainst distant reaches
once climbed
Long shadows cast on lion days
in an archway retired
once bright ember
inhaled
warm
hearty
now
fading glow
a sigh released
blue mist
tired old finger
flicks an ash
of yesteryear
into blue mist
