Night Owl

I am awake in the night
Feeling, breathing, caring.
I am living in the night time
Taking in all that is around me.

I am asleep in the day time.
Numbness flows through me.
My eyes are open but my heart is closed.
My ears are listening but I am not seeing.

I am the night owl,
I live in the night and
drown in the day.

People hurt me in the day
But I do not hear, I cannot hear.
Nor do I take note in the night
As they cannot effect me.

I am the living human who feels
Nothing. During the night
Is when I truly come alive.

Live by night, Die by day
I am
the
Night Owl
