This is beautiful, Robert. I love the sweeping effect and how you’ve caught the fine lines outlining the “waves”.

  • Thank you for your generous comments, Elizabeth! I was hanging onto a mast line while leaning out over the bow looking back along the waterline, shooting with one hand as we were coming back into the harbour after 3 hours on the water. It was only 3ºC!
    Cheers!

Great image and lovely narrative Robert…I love how that black line traces and follows the undulating waves

  • Thanks for noticing the thin black line, Russ! It’s a reflection of one of the many cables that I was trying to avoid tripping over or getting hung up on while manoeuvring my way around the deck of my brother’s fine wooden sailboat while out for a scoot in the Straits of Georgia last week.
    Cheers!

    So fascinating and almost surreal!

  • Many thanks, Gemma. There was a single long, thin cloud brilliantly illuminated by the setting sun that arced across the sky overhead, producing the orange band that limned the shallow wake on the still waters of the cove. It was a great day to be on the water!
    Cheers!

I can only echo all of the above. I know that area (have friends on Hotel Lake) and so this image makes me want to go there again! Really beautiful.

  • Thanks for your interest, Christine! Go visit your friends and take them for a spin on a boat!
    Cheers!
