It doesn’t look much, but this cupboard saved our lives. It contains our fire plan, clothing, and emergency supplies.
Some history on the cupboard:
It was made in NZ by my grandfather in his teens from solid Kauri, used by my father when he was a boy, used by me as child, then by my sister in her shed/studio. I broke one of the draws when I slammed it shut in a fit of teen angst. When we built this house, it came to me for safe keeping and seemed a good fire-cupboard. It contains everything we need for a long fire season.
