Waiting.
Having escaped the most horrendous situation in their home country, losing families and loved ones, and after many many years in refugee camps, the four men in this shared accommodation now await decisions on their status in Australia. Meeting these four people made my day. They are astonishing men. In this image, their social worker explains how to reapply for a medicare card every three months.

I like the way your sensitive composition has drawn the eye to the contrast in footwear – the hight heels of an affluent society versus those bear feet of those who come here with nothing but themselves. The bearing of their souls being both literal and metaphoric. A great photojournalistic image Mike.

lovely black and white shot Mike – love the lighting and the storytelling aspect of this image – really makes me want to see their faces and wonder what they are chatting about.

Thanks Deb. I wish I could put up portraits of these men – but I can’t, until their future is secured.

That is so sad .. I suppose I should have known that – very thought-provoking image Mike – really do like your angle on it and like I said before – a story to be told.
