I was born in Sydney, Australia where I lived and worked for the first half of my life until I left to ‘discover’ the world. I only got as far as Bali – becoming totally entrapped by the beauty of the magical island and its people.
In Bali I spent much of my time in the artist village of Ubud, the small mountain village which has always exhibited magnetic qualities for artists from every corner of the world. I too was captivated by its charms and its magical spell and living amongst the artists, I soon became aware of my own desire to develop the creative side of my life.
Probably because of the lack of any formal training, I have always shunned the idea of becoming trapped in any particular school, style or philosophy of art. As with most things in my life, I use my imagination to push myself in new directions with new ideas and techniques, and then learn from my mistakes.
Although I still call Australia my home, I am seldom there. When it bit me, the travel bug bit hard. After 2 years living in Germany and visiting much of the European continent, my wife and I have recently moved to the warmer climes of southern Spain. The search for new inspiration continues.
