Feeling the call of the wild.

I want my photography to swing between that which is public and that which is private. Likewise i want it to blur the line between what is staged for a camera and what is real – What is theater and what is documentary? What is a candid snapshot and what is a constructed and directed scene?

I want to turn ideas of proper and respectable behavior on their heads- to question what are these things called humanity and civilization and to ask how much of what we do is actually animal instinct.

I often like to capture the subtle variations of tone on the human body caused by the soft dappled light falling into interiors from the world outside; Daylight that often conceals just as often as it reveals.
At other times i like to turn the lights up and load up the flashgun to see the world in a harsh and unsympathetic light.
