2010 Asbtract Mixed Media Air brush, acrylic on 140 lb. prep watercolour paper 24×18″
From Dia del los Muertos Series
Fantasmas (ghosts) I know all about ghosts, When I was a kid we lived in many haunted houses especially in Texas, Louisanna, and Oklahoma in mid west and the south…the south wow remember the south, that I remember. I once lived in a haunted house in the San Joaquin central valley here in California. (see my painting Angel Whispers) Another fun piece from this week, I had forgotten how much fun air brushing was…Is…funny like that lol

Oh this one is fabulous too. So deeply haunting and yes ghostly :). The air brushing technique is perfect for this series. I love how you have created another world feel. So perfect and timely for halloween. Love skulls merging and melting. I am fascinated by your painting and story of living in haunted houses. You are a great story teller and a brilliant painter dear Rey. xxx

Haunted houses! really?
were you afraid to sleep at night? :D
I would have been if I had lived in a haunted house ;D
But besides that, this is really one of your abstract masterpieces. The blues here make the painting so soft and otherworldly – very ghostly indeed, and icy cold too, like ghost-breath. I think this is one of my favorite of yours.
you know when I was a kid I wasn’t afraid…of the ghosts as my Grandmama would tell me the dead can;t hurt you.. I was afraid of the UFOs that would appear from time to time. When I lived in haunted house alone as adult…I was too tired to be afraid…I would come home and fall asleep…But no one would stay over night or come over at night to that house. Thank you for complinment dear

I’ve shared a couple of apartments with what I can only call fantasmas. If they were something else, I have no clue what they were! LOL Quite an interesting image, Rey. The slashes give it that bit of fear that tends to accompany ghosts.
maybe they were shadow poeple…I seen those from time to time…
