2010 Abstract Acrylic mixed media on 140 lb. watercolour paper 24×18″

From Native American 2nd Tour Series
(Ghosts of the Pueblo Natives)

When I was a child in grade school, (I remember attending maybe a dozen schools) in the first two years in grade school, in at least that many states. My parents would up and move in a movements notice…seemed that way, we were always on the move. we traveled all over the states, and I have many fond memories of the Reservations that we crossed and went by. From Montana, in the north to New Mexico in the southwest and then to the east and back. I do remember these tall houses in the cliffs, and I wondered how the people that once lived there, got up there…funny like that when you are a kid. I didn’t know about the Native Americans then, but I remember my grandpapa always would tell me that once they were a great race of people that lived there…Like a small child I didn’t understand it then…funny like that lol

Hi Rey, what a wonderful story but it must of been tiring as a kid, hard to keep kids friendships. but on the other hand you certainly learned more that most kids at a young age…this is very beautifullll I just love it..and very interesting!!!

Sherri Hi dear girl… Yes I remember, I always made fast friends and two weeks later we were on the road again..never to see them again. I did learn alot and it was always exciting to get on the road and see where we would end up. My parents finally settled in California. It was a fun time :) Rey

This is the Reynaldo style I so love :) Strong lines, strong shapes, abstract enough but still able to determine the subject you are portraying. Cuando vi primero vez, parece que no habia fantasmas; pero las aparecen despues unos momentos. Es como hacen fantasmas, no? Buen hecho, mi amigo.

  • thank you dear friend for the visit and the compliment gracias linda mujer

Magnificent abstract painting and story Rey. I see so much here…so many layers of story and meaning. So many faces, expressions, people. So much emotional layering and texturing and putting down of paint overflowing with feeling. This beautiful abstract is full of mystery and meaning and created from a heart of passion and compassion. So enjoyed hearing your story. What an amazing rich and varied childhood you had. I can see how that would have opened your mind to so many different ways of imagining and being. This is a masterwork dear Rey. I love every mark and meaning. xxx
