2007 Mixed Media Guitar Sculpture Abstract

Stain glass effect. I built the frame of 36×48” out of douglas fir wood, then built the guitar out of pine wood, notching the inside (of guitar) to accept plexiglass cut-out, which is then inlaid into 36×48” frame after frame is skinned with thin masonite and prepared for finish paint and notched out to shape of guitar, simple. The rest is even more fun. Frame of guitar is painted black and antiqued, and varnished the plexiglass is painted with (stain glass paint) abstract design finished off with gold and silver metallic trim. Plexiglass then glued into guitar shape, guitar sculpture is then glued into guitar shape of frame. The outside of guitar shape is painted with yellow, yellow ochre, cad red, orange, purple and white mixed acrylic paints.
