St John’s Lutheran Church, Jane Place Tanunda South Australia. In the heart of the Barossa Valley, this church was opened by its German/Australian congregation in 1868. The congregation was founded 8 years earlier by a large breakaway group from the nearby Langmeil Church. They had worshipped in a private home and then a wheat store while awaiting a permanent home. The church is still in use (I am the Pastor) and is in a parish relationship with Bethlehem Lutheran Church 7 km outside of Tanunda at Schoenborn.
