This was meant to be psychedelic but I forgot to put colour film in my old Instamatic camera (again).
No it was originally created for a black and white challenge until I re-read the rules (properly this time) and discovered it was for photography only. So I thought I would make it psychedelic without the colours. If that is possible. I know it is a little surreal. I mean that is the intention here really. Psychedelic is a bonus. Or maybe I should go the whole distance and layer myriad colours through it. Or maybe the b&w is fine.

Not an artist just an outsider trying to get somewhere in the artworld. Got a long way to go yet. Appreciate all the help I can get so criticism is most welcome.

for me the bw is more than fine. even with colours, i don’t know if the picture would be more psychedelic than that. plus: i don’t think, the “myriad” colours would help. there is so much detail in this pic, so much information – the colours would overextend it. from my point of view…
anyway: the pic is fantastic. and the title fits more than perfectly – because it makes no real sense, it’s just as surrealistic as the pic… :oD
    really awesome!!!

p.s. now that i think of it, maybe two or three different colours would be good – or a few more. but not much. and i think of soft colours. maybe. it’s worth a try, definitely…

  • Thank you very much Benedikt. Greatly appreciated. Yes I may do a coloured version. A couple of the early drafts of the image were psychedelic. I’ll give it some thought.

Quite wonderful, Peter, I am curious about seeing it in “color-black and white”

  • Thank you very much Syd. Appreciate it.
I did five renders with the first three having colour in them but as it progressed the colour packed up its bags and left. Then returned briefly before going again. lol.
Maybe I should do a totally psychedlic version.
    Cheers mate.

Amazing!! What was in that tea my friend?
    May I have a re-fill?! :)

  • Thank you very much Keith. Greatly appreciated. The tea? Well you certainly can have a refill.
It was really the music I was listening to while working on the image. Collaged psychedlic, spacey electronic music from the late 80s/early 90s. Amazing stuff. Trouble is I don’t know who the bands were or the names of the tracks.
    Cheers mate.
