Red City on the planet Kepler-186f. A small city by Earth standards. Nothing like principle cities on old Earth but our image was taken in the early hours of the morning so we see few people on the street.. Most of its denizens are sound asleep.
After many generations the “locals” have adapted to the low-oxygen atmosphere. But for visitors, in recent years, it has become quite trendy to wear these cumbersome, old-style glass helmets with their oxygen-boosters. Enabling visitors to this almost Earth-like planet to breath normally. Even replicants, like the one seen here in the foreground, despite having some bio-electronically enhanced tissue still have, ironically, normal human lungs.
A warning though. Don’t go swimming in the canals. Just don’t.
