Earth Replica Stage One
The first stage of the terraformation of the planet, Ioloscerai, has been completed with the new topography unmistakably resembling the old planet Earth. Seen here is a rooftop shot looking past the tower of the newly completed Grand Hotel towards the Nepean Mountains.
Construction of the new city of Technopolis, some one hundred kilometres from our present position, is now complete. More to follow as Stage Two is completed.
Bookings for the 300-room hotel are still a little difficult to secure but should be right by the end of the present month.
It was agreed, after a lot of debate, to leave the old Ioloescerain moons in their original orbits even though, obviously, they don’t quite fit the Earth replication.
Created in Artmatic Voyager with original photographic elements (tower, roofs and cloud) except for the moons, which again, are courtesy of NASA. Crescents and figures created in GroBoto.
Earth Replica Stage One belongs to the following groups:

Another fine combination of elements and story, if this is terraforming in the story, then what we actually do is terrageneration, eh?
retepk replied
Thanks Syd. You are right terrageneration is a good term for it.
Cheers mate.
Tom Godfrey

retepk replied

I consulted my thesarus, another term could be Terramatrix, based on this:
geological matrix (plural geological matrices)
1. (geology) All the fine-grained background material in which crystals, pebbles or fossils are embedded in a sedimentary rock
retepk replied
Thanks Syd.
Terramatrix – I’ve not heard the term before. I like the word. The movie The Matrix ( a favourite of mine) is all about cyberworlds of course.
What about Geoformation. Georeformation. Terrareformation. Also perhaps Geo-engineering. Geocad . . . Terracad. Planetary Regenesis. Terracloning. Geotransformation. I’m into making up new words.

Ha hah, that’s why I keep a dictionary and thesarus next to my computer! Here’s another, Terradawn.
retepk replied
As do I. My Oxford Dictionary is always at hand. I’m an etymology nut.
Terradawn mmm. What about Terrareprogramming? Or Dirt reassembling? Georeestablishment. Georeassignment. Terrareassignment? I’ve got blisters on my brain!! :-)
