Canvas Wings

Gliding briskly, atop white capped waves,
Seemingly floating through the sky.
The cool refreshment of the constant spray.
On canvas wings I fly.

I sail away from the world,
Into the endless sea.
This is where the past is forgotten
And the day begins for me.

I leave the madness far behind,
No sound but a sea gulls cry.
With the wind pushing me onward;
On canvas wings I fly.

The Vortex of Sailing

Collaboration with

Linaji
This is just 1 of her stunningly beautiful images from her sailing series. . . It inspired me to share this poem!

The feeling I know I will get when I finally get to go sailing :o)
Written by myself in the late 1970’s
