My Mama Told Me a poem by RestLeSsD
Oh my dear mama
She wanted a girlie girl.
One who wore dresses
And liked to dance & to twirl.

Instead she got me
A tomboy to my core.
I didn’t like pink things
Jeans & boots is what I wore.

She loved me anyway
And made sure I was dressed
In the coolest blue denim
And my boots were the best.

Don’t let anyone change you.
You are who you will be.
And that’s the best I can ask for.
That’s what my mama told me.

Thank you dear mama
For loving the real me.
For teaching me how
To be the best that I can be. . .

Gotta love them boots, Rhonda! What a great work and what a very fitting poem to go with it! And Paul Simon? Cool choice of tunes! How about Nancy Sinatra, too? :o)

  • Aw Mike… that was my first consideration HAHA – but I thought I wanted something different… the words came to me when I listened to Paul’s song hence, the less agressive feel. Although Terri probably would’ve preferred that choice. . . tee hee…
Thank you for you kind words…
