Artist's Description

Artichoke Hearts

Oh my lovely Artichoke Blooms
Your beauty was wond’rous to behold.
You were left to bloom, to come alive
Allowed to age, to grow old.

Not like your sisters who had sat close by.
Who were plucked just before they bloomed.
They were rushed away to become a meal.
Unknown to you why they had been groomed.

You were the lucky ones, left behind
To open up to the sky.
To feel the warmth of the glowing sun
To share your beauty, to gracefully die. . .

Artichoke Heart

The artichokes that are left in my garden. They were allowed to bloom out & then left to seed.
My own photo, art created digitally in PSCS2 with Fractalius & a DAP overlaid mask layer^
This is an impressionist style painting I created digitally in Photoshop – with Fractalious & a DAP overlaid mask layer – It has a kind of psychedelic look to it. . .
