The funny thing about this message is I just bought a book from Amazon last friday call Age of Propaganda: The Everyday Use and Abuse of Persuasion. I want my son to know about this world we are living in when he learns to read or ready for a book report on what i had to do on summer vacation!

  • Scott Robinson replied

Sounds like an excellent read, and a great forwarning to your son!
Really glad this appeals to people, I don`t want to be overly negetive about things, I just wanted a way of expressing disatisfaction.

    Thanks again.

  • Matt Simner

    Matt Simner

Kerrching! – So loving the single colour designs Scott.

  • Scott Robinson replied

Thanks Mat, Some designs call for it, others don`t. This was getting pretty close to too complicated even without colours.

    Glad you like it.

  • Simon Sherry

    Simon Sherry

Instant fave and an excellent marriage of image and type. Unfortunate though that it all rings so true (especially that last line).

  • Scott Robinson replied

Thanks Simon, was challenging fun to do.

I got a bit carried away with the text, but I guess overdoing it works with the concept really.

  • Nick Ford

    Nick Ford

Looks unreal Scott!! Yeah the black does look pretty special!!! Brilliant usage of halftone mate.

  • Scott Robinson replied

Thanks Nick, took a while, but I got there.

The black makes it look silvery, which is how I think it should look, but the preview is more pronounced on white.

The halftones on this were a challenge, too heavy, too light.. etc etc..

  • Danielle Davenport

I’ll take fleeting relief any day! Really nicely balanced design, not an easy thing to achieve with a lot of text. Sadly, the text speaks of what a lot of people crave these days.

  • Scott Robinson replied

Thanks Roger, the typography is a large part of this design overall, i think it all came together rather nicely though, all things considered.

  • Tom Douce

    o0OdemocrazyO0o

    hahah greatness…

how do your super neat lines come out on RB shirts… do you have troubles on dark tees with light lines etc?

  • Scott Robinson replied

    Hey Demo,
I`m not 100% sure what dpi they`re printed at, but I really lose very little information when printed onto T`s. All the knifepoint edges are super-sharp, they don`t blur together..

Never really had a design printed that didn`t turn out exactly how I thought it should look, and I`m a picky bastard when it comes to line quality.

  • o0OdemocrazyO0o

    o0OdemocrazyO0o

wow nice one… I had one tee thats still having problems so i gotta change it (that 2008 falling down one, with the stock market crash on yellow shirt) no thin lines tho… just odd stuff happening where the people in the windows were not being printed or being printed badly and the ink peeling off fast.. i have had them send me like three versions lol they were really good about it.. i though it may of been like a ink density thing but they were unsure… also they have a new printer now and the newest shirt they sent was alot more contrasty so watch your greys :D

anyway was just curious to see if all your neat line work came out sweet… do you use an illustrator or photoshop template?

    cheers,
    d

  • Scott Robinson replied

Hey Demo, I guess that`s why I don`t use a whole lot of colours here, Not that I don`t think that Rb can print it well, I think it just leads to less dramas in the end.Less overprinting required and stuff like that..

I ususally do all the linework in Illustrator, then drop it into photoshop and make the final effects and stuff… So then go through both, but come out of photoshop for the end product.

Oooh I missed this one Hun…...Mmmmm I like it a LOT-this either took you ages, or it all kinda happened at once in one gigantic brainstorm????
Anyway, that snake is PERFECT for one of the tattoos I want…..;D

  • Scott Robinson replied

Haha, kind of equal parts of both? Idea came to me in a second, took ages to squeeze out! hahaa

I may just have to draw you up a tattoo version of the snake then eh?
