Drawing Zen T-Shirt

Scott Robinson

Drawing Zen

First piece of 2009.

I had things to remember, it took a comment by Najeroux to remind me.

My favorite Red Pacer pencil, trusty nikko finepoint, and a whole bunch of Illustrator time.

Hope you enjoy

Thanks Raae, glad you like it. It`s somewhat of a self portrait, and I don`t ever wear shoes unless totally necessary. I like to feel the ground.

ohh you the boss at line work!
like level 11 boss where you just keep pumping in coins to see how to beat him…and then all you had to do was run away and jump off the wall and get behind him and….

i also like the angle too great camera eyes!

  • Scott Robinson replied

    Hahaha, thanks Mate, that`s hilarious.
Angle was a bitch to get my head around, Hard to show ground lines, while still haviing some semblance of form to the figures,.

I`ve come to realise there is no bar. I`m just going to try to make every single thing I do as good as I can possibly do it,. Thanks mate.

You nail your line weights every time scott – it’s that technical drawing backround I reckon.

    So good.

yeah i wish the 3d effects and warping etc were more mathimatical and unified like in a 3d program… it’s hard to get all elements on the same kinda “plane”...

a cool program if you ever want to mix up 3D with vector and animation / flash etc is called “Swift3D” you can get it for Maya and Max and you can use it to render out to a vector format like .fla etc so you can have aniamted 3d vector OR a still shot… many many uses :D it’s just a plug in, you can get it as a 3D program too but max and maya are much much cooler :D

Thanks Jen, glad the concept works for you.

I`m not supersticious, but I only work with red pacers, with the clip broken off for comfort. I have no idea why, but it`s been like that for years.

You know what I like about Scott Robinson (here we go again..they sigh)
His ability to personalize his designs.
OK this one has a drawing of himself in it but it also shows things Scott has revealed to us over the past (nearly) 2 years.
The anology of zen, drawing and doodling in the sand is inspired.
Even Scott’s doodles are perfectly presented.
    Love this.
    It should be your logo.

Simply beautiful work mate – the perspective, line weights and overall composition are all spot on. As Danny said above, you’ve got a great way of personalising your work, which just adds to the experience of appreciating it even more.
