Ghosts or War
Revised version of Mother & Son, just because I`ve got some time on my hands this morning, and I`ve always wanted to go back to this one.
I like this colourway, and I`ve been learning the delicate art of halftoning. I`ve been enjoying the mix of halftone and sharp lines recently.
Hope you all enjoy too.

Um … that’s me drooling over your halftones and your muted palette and stuff.
Scott Robinson replied
And who taught me how to do this?? See what you`ve done!
Thanks Mate, I`m enjoying playing with them. I`ve got a fair bit left to learn though.
Stephen Rowsell

Scott Robinson replied
Cheers Steve, I`m just a baby halftoner..
ElRobbo
Fine work, Scott!
Scott Robinson replied
Thanks mate, I`m liking this better than the original now.
zomboy
great work scott – the contrast between the halftone and lines works very well as a play of foreground and background.
Scott Robinson replied
That`s what I was hoping for, so I`m glad it seems to have worked. Cheers mate
Jen Cannella
Crazy cool!
Scott Robinson replied
Thanks.
chelsgus
Background and foreground work together really well.
Looks like it should be a still from an animation – a rather dark one ;)
Scott Robinson replied
Ohh how I`d love to be able to animate… I`m working towards that though.. Someday, Someday..
fixtape
Really like this version! You’re too good.
Scott Robinson replied
I likes it too! Thanks Fixtape

Sweet Zombie Jeezus, sir, this is fantastic!
As others have already mentioned, the halftones really work well in combination with the foreground figures, and I LOVE the white linework, really helps add depth to the foreground elements.
Great stuff.
Scott Robinson replied
Glad you like it Simon. I`ve been really facinated with the halftone/line combination for a while now. Just trying to get it into action now.
lostboy13

Is it wrong to be aroused by art depicting the horrors of war based on it’s line work and creative merit? Does that sound as bad on the internets as it does on my head? Aw, i think I should shut up for a while…
najeroux
Scott Robinson replied
I won`t really think so, but I am slightly biased.
Don`t go shutting up either, free thought comments are always welcome.
Pip Gerard
the background has just made this extra extraordinary! The image was already so powerful, moving and emotional… but the background makes it feel more real.
incredible work Scott. One to be so very proud of.
Scott Robinson replied
Thanks Pip, I was hoping to bring it a little more context.
