Bathing Beauty
This image started out as a light sketch with a hard lead. I then painted the areas I wished to remain untouched with white gouache, and covered the entire drawing with black india ink. Just before it was completely dry, I washed the piece, which removed the gouache completely, leaving the sketch I had started with. Some of the ink was not yet dry when I washed, which created teh striations. I love this “gouache-wash” method, and the serendipitous results I get.
