When the last leaf falls

I lay here staring up to the stars
The leaf on the window… golden
The death of the earth glaring
The failure within retreats
And in this daze
I am happy

I smoked until my lungs collapsed
Brought back by healing light
Another leaf on the window
Another show of despair
I lay here happy
Drifting in

The rain on my skin
It breathes life
The scent of smoke
Drips from my fingers
On my knees
I catch the final leaf

The world falls apart and I awake
For this is my time to rise
Burning brightly
Upon the hands of time

I stand upon
The very foundations that brought you
I stand here
A god in all glory
When the last leaf falls
I will finish this story

When the last leaf falls
