Since December 2005, most my work has involved the tattooed figure. I believe that we are all products of our environment and the subjects of my work are a consequence of my surroundings. After working in a tattoo shop for over three years, my work has evolved into a strange hybrid of classical figure painting and tattoo flash.

However, when all is said and done, subject matter appears to be a second thought compared to the desire to just paint. I never can tell what will come out of each new piece, but the end result-whether good or bad-is equally satisfying. Simply put, I enjoy the act of making art.

My motivations and inspirations come from the interesting people I surround myself with, many of which happen to be tattooed. And while I do find fascination in the tattooed figure, the fact that they are tattooed is never the sole reason that they are interesting. Figure painters who have influenced me include those such as Shawn Barber, Jenny Seville, Chuck Close, Lucian Freud, and Willem de Kooning.
