Rene Hales

Lexington, UNITED STATES

I started in photography in 1990 shooting mostly Kodak HIE infrared film. I now shoot IR with a converted digital camera.

In the past I did a number of Polaroid processes including SX-70 manipulations, emulsion transfers and lifts. I also like to handpaint images. My most recent interest is in an alternative process creating platinum/pallidum prints made with digital negatives. I am moving this work toward a combination of palladium over pigment prints.

My work has appeared in shows in Kentucky and has been purchased by Georgetown College, ORCCA Inc & The Saint Joseph Women’s Center. Work on this site is for sale in a variety of sizes.
