Hops are the female flowers (also called seed cones or strobiles) of a hop species Humulus Lupulus. They are used primarily as a flavoring and stability agent in beer,to which they impart a bitter, tangy flavor. They are also used for various purposes in other beverages and herbal medicine.

I dedicate this to my husband and son, home-brewers and hop farmers extraordinaire !

Shot taken in Fenton,MI USA.

Great photo Renee – can I come and stay with you during the brewing season…..? I can remember the Oast houses when I lived in Kent in UK – the smell was overpowering and used to give me a headache.

I love your textures, is there a place you can go to learn how to do this?

Very lovely focus, colors and treatment – as though spreading the flavor throughout the image.
