The sound of teardrops splashing onto the floor shatters the silence.
She sits alone with the white walls, perched on her wooden chair,
Crying over things long past and the future yet to come.
She feels like a pane of broken glass on a sidewalk,
Smashed into a puzzle of bits and fragments.
All of her hopes and dreams were crushed-
Right in front of her very own eyes-
Ground until they were specks of dust,
Floating out of sight and never to be seen again.
Then she realizes that nobody else cares,
Nobody else seems to give a damn any more.
Then the silence is shattered by one last teardrop.
