Fade Out

Like a single piece of tinted glass
Tossed on the side of the road
The flower sat upon her shelf
Touched by the moonlight glow
A wilted rose was all that remained
Of a friendship not long past
Covered with dust and slightly crushed
Not much shadow it could cast
With time the color would fade away
Like something bleached by the sun
Just as the fading of the memory
Of that friendship has already begun

Fade Out
