From the series “The Museum of Happy Endings”
This collection of images began as a collaborative experiment between photographer Robin Cowings and writer Angela Readman. An experiment in sharing text and photographs.
The work explores fairytale characters and locations, transformation, cycles of the seasons and life, light and darkness. Touching on notions of change; from girl to princess, from slumber to wakefulness, from Winter to Spring.
This dream museum; an archive of the fairytale, asks the question, “What happened after the happy ending?”.
Exhibited at Newcastle Playhouse 26.09.08-11.10.08

For many years Robin Cowings’ work has been primarily limited to commercial photography, having worked for magazines and theatres, producing fashion and editorial photography. His more personal work operates on the boundaries of the “commercial image” and more experimental art photography.
