Clitocybe Odora [ Aniseed Toadstool ] by

Found this one basking in the sun light under the Pine trees . As I approached the trees I had said to myself I wonder if those blue ones are there this year , sure enough they were .

Nikon D5100, 70 -300 mm Sigma lens.

I am a 57 year old ageing Hippy with a love of nature . A romantic at heart but sadly single. I used to be a decorator but since my father became ill I have given up my business to care for him full time . When I have time to myself I like nothing more than to get out into the woods or the countryside and capture the sights around me. I hope you enjoy seeing what I see. Thanks for viewing. Kind regards Mark.

    This is so lovely :-)

  • Many thanks Maisie , I like the more colourful ones and blue is always a little unusual . A bright green one is what I would love to find . Kind regards ,Mark.

Great find, Mark. I don’t have any idea, are these edible?

  • According to one of my books Karina , it states , Edible , but best used as a flavouring rather than a main dish due to its strong aromatic taste. Ummm ….. I have learn’t something new. I thought they were poisonous . Many thanks! Mark.

You find the most incredible colors and shapes, fabulous for photography but not culinary use! Sandy

  • I’m a better photographer than a chef Sandy .There are so many mushrooms that look a like I wouldn’t be a hundred percent sure which are good and which are bad , better safe than sorry. I will stick to shooting them and leave the cooking to those who know . Hope your well and Happy , kindest regards ,Mark.
