Just getting myself in the mood for the start of the new season of fungi hunts. Can’t wait!. Last year I knew nothing about fungi apart from mushrooms go well with a fried breakfast. Thanks to the Fungillicious group and the help received from Steve, Esther and Carla I know a lot more. It will soon be time to scramble about on my hands and knees in the woods again. I look forward to posting new finds in the months to come. Mark.

I am a 53 year old ageing Hippy with a love of nature . A romantic at heart but sadly single. I used to be a decorator but since my father became ill I have given up my business to care for him full time . When I have time to myself I like nothing more than to get out into the woods or the countryside and capture the sights around me. I hope you enjoy seeing what I see. Thanks for viewing. Kind regards Mark.

This is so vibrant. An electric mushroom of sorts. Very cool shot!! You are the king of fungi…and I mean that in the best way :) Warmest Regards, Peechez

  • Thank you my friend , I have been called a lot of things in my life but that’s a first. Still laughing now.

So ,if we ever happen to be down in your area and see a strange man rummaging about in the undergrowth it could be YOU Mark….on your fungi hunt! LOL
    Great image. . wonderfully vibrant!

  • That would be me Angie. I do get some very strange looks from dog walkers and the ‘odd rambler. Last year I frightened the life out of a female dog walker. I was on my hands and knees trying to get the best angle when I got cramp and jumped up from behind a bush. It took a lot of explaining. How much she believed I don’t know. Very embarrassing . Thanks ,Mark.

  • Thank’s Lynn, It s just a matter of searching off the beaten track. My main worry this time of year is Adders. There are a lot on the common.
