It's Bonus Time Over at AIG (AGAIN) by

There seems to be no end to the greed at American International Group. Edward Liddy, chairman, tried to make the case that bonuses are needed to keep skilled executives. Have they no shame at all?

The other image is one I took in Philadelphia by the 30th Street Station. This homeless man was sharing what little bread he had with the pigeons.

Why is it in America that we reward the first, and blame the second?

Can it get any more outrageous? Great composite and statement

  • the horror is that it can and probably will get worse unless we organize and do something.

  • share the story with someone else. the more people are awrae of where our money is going the more we might stand together to DEMAND our elected President do something!

I am so glad you did this. I am so outraged, words fail me. I think a major story should be put together “Who Are These Men & Women?” and spread across the internet, which lists each and every “skilled executive” who’s receiving a bonus, the dollar amount of the bonus, their position in the company, and a recent photo. They should be made so visible they feel ashamed to be seen at AIG, indeed anywhere outside their (palatial, no doubt) homes.

  • i think this is an excellent idea Kevin. Their faces should be made public. their neighbors should know. We all should know.

I read the reason they give is that they cannot allow bonuses to be “dictated by the government” – perhaps not exact words, but something to that effect.

Well, how about having bonuses dictated by the fact that they lost incredible billions of dollars?

  • How much does one need? If a homeless man can share the piece of bread he has with pigeons, can’t these fatcat execs stop stuffing their pockets long enough to see they are quickly destroying our country, the globe?

    excellent statement…great image

It’s rather ironic that the same people who repeatedly call for low taxes and minimal government intervention are willing to line up and take government money to bail them out of the quagmire, only to go deeper into it ‘cos they can’t get their snouts out of the trough.

  • i think they got more than their snouts in the trough this time or perhaps it really is all the time:(

Yeah! Lots of greedy fat cats.

I live in a country where the Prime Minister, other government ministers and even senior civil servants are ALL paid much more than Obama. In fact, someone once calculated that tehe Prime Minister of Singapore draws a salary equivalent to that of SEVEN leading world presidents and prime ministers!

Reason for this is to “attract top talents” into government and also to “prevent corruption”. LOL! and Sigh!

Recently, there was a big hoo-hah among local netizens after a civil servant (permanent secretary) wrote an article in the newspapers about how he and wife and son spent their five-week holiday at the Cordon Blu Cooking School in France!

Cooking lessons alone, excluding air tickets and five weeks of hotels in France, came up to about US$30,000!

  • Richard, thanks for the story. I did an interview with a gray panther about 30 or more years ago. He was about 80 at that time and spent about 5 hours telling me all about the absence of international borders when it comes to greed, especially corporate greed and military power. Seems he was right.
