Dark Drew All the Light From My Eyes
I have long loved the poetry of James Dickey. Early in the morning when I stood by a lake and saw the empty lifeguard chair, I thought of Dickey and his rather ominous poem, The Lifeguard.
I can recall the first time I read it and the ambiguity I felt. I needed and desired to reread the work. During the last few decades it is a work I return to. The title of the poem is a line I “borrowed” from the “the Lifeguard”.
Title from James Dickey’s “The Lifeguard”

I like the light fading across the dock into the dark FG. Also the hot spot behind the chair makes it dramatic. Nice symmetry too.
