Rain Falling (Original)

I was asked what the original photograph of Rain Falling (before I made it a black and white) looked like and decided to post it. Hope you enjoy.

Very moody! It must have been throwing it down from the look of the rain on the lake. I had a similar day a couple of months ago. It was actually a great time to take photos. Like this and the black and white one.

  • Mary Ann Reilly replied

It was pouring. Thanks. Not sure which I like.

Lovely pic very dark and moody. I too prefer the pic in this color. The print color looks like a B & W print made on platinum or high bromide paper print with its slight green or bluish color.

One of my favorite pics of yours

  • Mary Ann Reilly replied

Thanks Andy. I am considering entering a landscape in a show and I think this may be the one. Appreciate your comments.

Considering the amount of rain that has been falling around here and is in fact falling as I write…I am nonetheless drawn to this – it is sublime piece. And Congrats!

Its unrelentingly gloomy, but I love it for this very reason.

This is fantastic, Mary! I would really like it if you resubmit this piece to Color Me a Rainbow during the black round. I think it is more suited for that round and I’m pretty sure it will be featured. ;-)
