Mary Ann, your talents are seemingly limitless. This is fantastic. I love the play of light and shadow. In the thumbnail version, I thought this was an actual cityscape photo.
Mary Ann Reilly replied
it is a photo transfer. It means that I made a pianting and then transferred a photograph on top of that painting (using gel medium).

Oh Mary Ann what an honor and a beautiful present. This is just stunning. Thank you!
Mary Ann Reilly replied
you’re very welcome. I haven;t done much of this and it felt good to make.
Fee Dickson
I second Maria on the honour! How have you done this, Mary Ann? did you print out the photo then paint on top? fabulous effect!
Mary Ann Reilly replied
I actually did the painting first: watercolor and bit of acryllic paint and then it dired. Some gel medium on top of the painting and the a photo transfer of an image of the city skyline. More drying and pressing. Peel away and you get some irregular edges, holes. Photograph the work, make further adjustments in photoshop and upload.
It was fun to do. Thanks:)
Fee Dickson
Wow. What an interesting process. Thanks for describing that, Mary Ann. I may get in touch when I’m back home for more advice on how to go about doing that. It’s a fascinating mix of media.
Mary Ann Reilly replied
yes. There’s a wonderful book by Theresa Aireym” Digital Photo Art” thatr explains the process of rtansfer very nicely. I have experimented witha ll types of substances. mI just elarned about purell (the hand sanitizer) as something that will also life a print. I’ll be trying that as soon as I get some.

Excellent Night Shot.. so abstract..wonderful…
Mary Ann Reilly replied
thanks. I think the blend of traditional arts (painting) and photo transfer helps to make the work less realistic.
