"Stately, plump Buck Mulligan"...
When my family and I were in Ireland last September, we visited the James Joyce Tower in Sandycove, Dublin. Joyce spent a week there in 1904. The hammock and trunk is a photograph I had taken at the tower. When we we reading to leave Sandycove, I looked up and saw this man in the window and quickly made another photo. He reminded me of Joyce.
I knew I wanted to combine the images in some manner. This is the first attempt. The title is the opening line of Ulysses.
The quote is from “The Dead,” the closing story in Dubliners.
Finally, the texture is from a free download that was mentioned on JPG Cast_off forum (Wedding Textures).
