Prayer
Buddhist monk captured deep in thought during a prayer service, Tibet 2006.
The shaft of light was the first thing that caught my attention, then I noticed the monk perfectly lit up in profile.
Canon EOS 350D, 70-200mm f2.8, natural light, hand-held – braced on a temple pillar. Unfortunately burned-out the highlights

What a wonderfully captured moment in time!

Thanks for your comment – just lucky to be standing in the right place at the right time. Tricky exposure though – had to shoot a few and brace on a pillar before I got a sharp shot!

David, the image is excellent. The group rule is there must be a Canon camera in the description after editing you may resubmit if you wish. BigD

Awesome work Dave – straight to my fav’s and a well deserved feature for “The human condition”. Reading an early comment of yours – I don’t believe that great work (like this) is an accident. Your skill has enabled you to go to the right place, expose, compose and capture a highly evocative image. Well done.
