Epson V700
Well…. I’ve been saving and last week purchased an Epson V700, after a tip from Syd Winer and some research on the net.
I relish re-scanning my old negatives (and positives) to see the difference. Early indication…
6 Photographers
Went to the Art Gallery of NSW to see the 6 Photographers exhibition…..
_In 1955 six Australian photographers (Gordon Andrews, Max Dupain, Kerry Dundas, Hal Missingham, Axel Poignant and David Potts) presented an exhibition in Sydney that represented a shift from the traditions of the past to the recording of contemporary life. This exhibition presents five photographs by each, stressing t…
Pushing a Fuji Velvia 100
I used my Pentax K1000 and 50mm lens to try out the Fuji Velvia 100 slide film. I exposed TTL at 400 ISO, and then asked the photo developer to push the development by 2 stops to make up for the under exposure.
I am impressed with colour and the level of detail in the shadows that emerged from pushing the Fuji Velvia two stops, the photos are a little darker than I expected and slightly gra…
Armpits and Apples
I am reading a booked called The Brain That Can Change Itself my Norman Doidge.
In the chapter titled ‘Acquiring Tastes and Love’ on page 101 (no pun intended), the follow is revealed….

Theory of Rain
1. When you sense the first signs of rain, it is most likely going to get heavier.

by what you do and don’t do?
I say you are defined by what you think. Everthing else contradicts or confirms this….
The less contradiction…

Population Ponzi
I heard an economist talk about the need to populate or perish. I recently read the average life span of a child born today will be 90 years.
As the population ages there is a greater need for health care. With the general level of care also increasing, we need younger people to work and help provide the tax revenue to pay for the health professionals to look after us in our old age. Hmmm…
Invasion of privacy?
Tonight whilst walking in the streets near home, I stopped to take a photo of the moon, some powerlines and the sunset. Whilst preparing for the shot (with manual film camera), I was confronted by an angry and aggressive woman. From a distance she demanded (five times) “what are you doing”. Each time I responded that it was my business, and not her concern. The tone of my voice would have b…
