Pushing a Fuji Velvia 100

I used my Pentax K1000 and 50mm lens to try out the Fuji Velvia 100 slide film. I exposed TTL at 400 ISO, and then asked the photo developer to push the development by 2 stops to make up for the under exposure.

I am impressed with colour and the level of detail in the shadows that emerged from pushing the Fuji Velvia two stops, the photos are a little darker than I expected and slightly grainy, but the rich colours are a bonus. I’d be interested to know which photo you prefer.

I really don’t think it is possible to achieve this effect with digital images and Photoshop, but someone will no doubt will prove me wrong!

Oh, and if anyone knows what type of flower is Number 6, be much appreciated if you could share it with me.

IMO, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are the best, with #3 being the pick of the bunch through the colour and shadows..
    1 not to bad.
    2 far to bright.
    7, too dark.

3 and 5 for sure (4 is interesting, but the blown area to the right unbalances the image.) i love shooting Fujichrome, but it just got to be too expensive to purchase and process.

Yes, pushing the development by two stops has blown out the areas that were already reasonably exposed, so there is a lesson in that for me.
