You know that it’s coming, she gives you that look
You have done something wrong and you search for somewhere, anywhere to look
And then she comes with a fistfull of shouting,
a raised voice and fire
To avoid serious collateral damage,
is your only desire
So you shrink and you hide
and you apologise profusely.
And you cower and crumple
under the barage of fire.
Then she softens and melts
and forgives and draws closer.
And you move in as the emotion rises higher,
and the sparks of love re-kindle that fire
Here She Comes With A Fist-full Of Shouting !
You must have had this experience at some point if you have ever been in love with a woman. It’s one of those moments when we have done the wrong thing and our lady is not at all impressed with our actions. It usually turns out for the best – if the love is really there.
Comments are very welcome ! Feedback is a great teacher for all of us.

men just need to realize one simple thing: if you quit doing stupid shit, we won’t have a reason to yell at you.
(i tell my husband this everyday!)
reflector in reply to Shannon Rene' Justice aka HahpiStuff’s comment, 5 months ago
From what I learned in the relationship that inspired this poem ( years after it was all over ) ladies don’t always need us to do anything wrong at all. We just think differently, men and women. That’s bound to cause trouble sometimes. The last 4 lines are the best bit.
Shannon Rene' ..., 5 months ago
dont you mean, men dont think? (LOL, i so need to go to bed, im getting punchy!)
reflector in reply to Shannon Rene' Justice aka HahpiStuff’s comment, 5 months ago
The lady this was written about could have had everything she ever wanted in a relationship from me, but she seemed addicted to arguing. She lost me right there ! Men think, but she wasn’t doing a great job of thinking on some levels – the ones that really matter. Killing love was her forte.

Good night !
Shannon Rene' ..., 5 months ago
:( sorry to hear that! yeah, women can be bitches…..even me at times :D
reflector in reply to Shannon Rene' Justice aka HahpiStuff’s comment, 5 months ago
Don’t go all soft on us now ! You came into this page with your ” verbal dukes up ” socking it to the men for our thoughtlessness ! Stiffen up, and get tuff Soldier !
Shannon Rene' ..., 5 months ago
hahaha…im only soft when required to be! i’ll be the first to tell someone when they would do the world a service by laying themselves under a mac truck tire!
reflector in reply to Shannon Rene' Justice aka HahpiStuff’s comment, 5 months ago
I hope I don’t qualify for that kind of communication ! I think that whole experience would leave me feeling VERY FLAT, and that ain’t ALL THAT ! :D
Shannon Rene' ..., 5 months ago
HAHAHAHAHAHAAHA! nah, only contributors who use clip art or poser art and have the nerve to call themseleves artists quality….well, and those irritating people you meet throughout the day…..the old bag in front of you in the 20 items or less line with a cart full of depends and applesauce, the pimply faced fucktard in the taco hell drive through that cant get your order right…..those brilliant idiots that make our world a tad bit dimmer…..okay, im done bitching for the morning….gots to go pay bills! LOL
reflector in reply to Shannon Rene' Justice aka HahpiStuff’s comment, 5 months ago
You would make a fine ” Punk News ” reader on the ” This Is Not A News Hour ” if they ever set one up ! I’ve seen one person who had images of a tropical island and they had been enlarged to the degree that ” Pixel Blow-out ” occurred – bunches of green pixelated sections all through the image. And it was for Sale – crazy stuff – just looking for copyright trouble.
I’ll let you get out to pay those bills and do those other errands.
Cheers ! It was very cool to ” cyber-meet ” you !
Shannon Rene' ..., 5 months ago
hmmmm…..punk news eh? you should check out diatribe webzine…its ran by my exhusband and a few of his friends….its pretty badass! i think its diatribe.com….but i might be wrong..i will have to look
reflector, 5 months ago
That’s easy enough to search using Google or Yahoo – I’ll check it out later tomorrow. It’s getting very late in the post-midnight hours.

Diatribe MySpace Page
Oh, its Diatribe Inc. and yeah, it’s kinda sarcastic, my ex is kinda an asshole! LOL
reflector in reply to Shannon Rene' Justice aka HahpiStuff’s comment, 5 months ago
So out of all that ( nicely designed web site may I say ! ), where do I look for the punk news or similar social commentary / bashing ?
And can I do something that I have never asked anyone on RB before ? Can you read another one of my poems and we can move over there with this discussion ?
Shannon Rene' ..., 5 months ago
not sure really….and yes, after baking my cookies, i will read something else ;)
reflector in reply to Shannon Rene' Justice aka HahpiStuff’s comment, 5 months ago
Now you’re just trying to make me feel envious – all those cookies sending their aroma through a kitchen ! I’m going to the kitchen to grab coffee and a biscuit, and try to calm down a bit !
Shannon Rene' ..., 5 months ago
arent biscuits cookies over there or am i thinking of something else?
reflector in reply to Shannon Rene' Justice aka HahpiStuff’s comment, 5 months ago
Biscuits and cookies are basically the same thing, but many biscuits are not cookies, and only a cookie is really a cookie. ( we are getting into high science now, very technical stuff ! )
Shannon Rene' ..., 5 months ago
lol…well these are milk and semi sweet chocolate chip cookies with toasted coconut…YUM!
reflector in reply to Shannon Rene' Justice aka HahpiStuff’s comment, 5 months ago
Where did I go to ? = Sleep ! They sound very good – I might need to find a chef of my own !
Shannon Rene' ..., 5 months ago
haha, i cant cook worth a shit…...seriously! i cant make a grilled cheese, a hamburger, anything….i can bake, but not cook. i know it doesnt make any sense. like, when i was growing up, christmas baking was a huge deal and all the women in the family did it, so i learned how to bake early on….but as far as regular cooking….i am a spoiled rotten brat and when i wanted something to eat, someone would just give it to me, so i never learned how to cook anything. now my husband wont let me try bc i keep catching our kitchen on fire!!!!
reflector in reply to Shannon Rene' Justice aka HahpiStuff’s comment, 5 months ago
Sorry ! I went skateboarding for an hour and then worked for about 5 hours.
That’s maybe the funniest story I have ever heard ! I can cook, but I’ve never tried to do anything by using a recipe and probably never will. But the same creativity that we use in making art can be used in the kitchen to a degree. That’s how cooks operated before they had to get certification in colleges and universities. They just tried things with new ingredients and new cooking methods and were careful not to have a disaster in the kitchen. You can cook very well – if you believe it – no recipe required, and just concentrate on your actions ( focus – like in skating ) and disasters / fires will be a thing of the past ! It’s true ! :D

Relationships do tend to work like that don’t they>>>men and women just think sOoOooo differently>>nothing even has to be wrong fo an argument to start>>arguments can come from a place of love or insecurity>>one is healthy arguments and the other VERY BAD!!! the hard thing is knowing where the other person is coming from>>
reflector in reply to jianina’s comment, 5 months ago
Very true ! It gets confusing, but it’s worth the effort to get it right..
linaji, 4 months ago
wow your look into the reaction of it all.. I remember… now for me a bit different but I like the memory of fire.. inside I always react.. but now as I have mellowed.. well I try and do the focusing from other aspects that are more approachable.. but still first reaction is deff. the fire..!!lol thanks for the memories and the gut reaction that does not seem to wane..
reflector in reply to linaji’s comment, 4 months ago
Thanks a lot linaji !
The poem is filled with the emotional tinges of some experiences that were a long time ago in my life. But I’m sure I’m not the only Man to have felt desperate to know what he said or did wrong so that peace can prevail. The women loved it too. I’m glad I received this inspiration.
