Half-Cab To K-Grind

A local skater at Croudace Bay Skate Park (in Lake Macquarie, New South Wales) performs a trick called a Half-Cab To K-Grind on the block/ledge. I asked him would he mind if I took a few photos of him skating and I captured two different tricks at the “ollie pop” stage and in the middle of the action/trick. It was a pretty overcast/grey day and the lighting wasn’t optimal so I had to use a higher ISO than I normally would.

I enjoy the whole creative process from beginning to end and seek to discover and portray the world in all of it’s rich, intense colours and interesting forms, textures and subjects. I draw inspiration from the harmonious colour schemes often present in the natural environment when creating my Graphic Designs, or composing a Photograph or other work.

    Excellent timing James !!! ☺♥

  • Thanks for your comment and the fave! :))xx It all happens so fast, but understanding skateboarding first-hand helps so much when photographing it.

    Such concentration! Great catch James.

  • Yes, you have to concentrate a lot to do most skate tricks. He did a 180 degree turn then landed with his axle/truck scraping along the steel pipe on the edge of that concrete block – that requires a lot of precision actions to accomplish. Thanks for your comment, it’s always appreciated! :))xo
