Sergeant Major

This big, plump duck seems to be standing there staring down the barrel of the lens with an air of Authority. Very Regal, with an almost Military presence.

There are many native animals on display at at Blackbutt Nature Reserve in Newcastle, Australia. Some are kept in purpose built enclosures, while others are left to roam freely about the reserve.

I think that duck eat to much human junk food. lol. nice one ;)

  • You’re actually very accurate in assessing the Generalissimo! :-)) They come out of the pond and hang around right near the Covered Picnic Tables waiting for food scraps and treats. Thanks Manon!

Looks like you have been ‘out for a duck’, yet managed to score well. :)

  • Out for a Flock, more accurately! :-)) But yet I didn’t return home with even one Feather, let alone a tasty drumstick! :)) Thanks Kanages!

Oh so sorry. This one is clearly constipated and not liking that you captured his worst ever moment! For shame James:)
    Seriously funny shot friend.:))))

  • Well spotted and diagnosed! :)) Those legs seem miraculous to me – how can they hold it up? He’s hiding some Drumsticks that Kentucky Fried would love to get hold of! :))xox

Great clear and detailed shot, James! Think perhaps visitors spoil this one, unless it’s a female filled with eggs? Majestic! * Congratulations to your feature!

  • Thanks for your encouragement! I didn’t think about it possibly being pregnant, I just thought it was a bit overweight. :))
